## Description

Latvia's Health Inspectorate (Veselības inspekcija), under the Ministry of Health, carries out the registration of medical practitioners and medical treatment support persons and maintains the state registers of healthcare practitioners and of healthcare institutions.

## Scope

Statutory registration of healthcare practitioners (the register of medical persons) and of healthcare institutions in Latvia, with public register searches. It is the registration and oversight body; individual specialist certification is delegated to the professional association.
