Every credential a competent clinic or clinician should hold for the procedures on this registry, keyed to the issuer's own public register so you can verify a specific surgeon or facility yourself.
- JCI hospital accreditation
Issuer Joint Commission International
Facility-level standards covering patient safety, infection control, governance, and clinical quality. Required by many medical-tourism intermediaries before listing a hospital.
- ISAPS member surgeon
Issuer International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Individual surgeon membership; requires national-board certification in plastic surgery plus peer endorsement.
- National plastic-surgery board certification
Issuer Country-specific (e.g. ABPS in US, BAAPS in UK, SBCP in Brazil, KSPRS in South Korea, ASPRS in Australia)
Specialty-board certification in plastic surgery from the surgeon's country of practice. The single most important credential for any cosmetic or reconstructive procedure.

Issuer International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity
Facility + surgical-team accreditation for bariatric surgery; requires minimum case volumes, multidisciplinary follow-up, and outcomes reporting.
- ASMBS MBSAQIP Accredited Bariatric Center
Issuer American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery + American College of Surgeons
US-specific facility accreditation requiring case-volume thresholds, structured follow-up, and outcomes data submission.
- ICOI Fellowship / Diplomate
Issuer International Congress of Oral Implantologists
Dentist-level credentialing in dental implant placement; tiered (Associate Fellow → Fellow → Diplomate) by case experience.
- National dental-council registration
Issuer Country-specific (e.g. GDC in UK, ADA in US, DCI in India, MOPH in Thailand)
Baseline registration with the country's statutory dental regulator. A non-negotiable minimum for any dental procedure.
- HFEA-licensed fertility centre
Issuer Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (UK)
UK statutory licence for any clinic providing IVF, ICSI, donor cycles, or embryo storage. The HFEA publishes per-clinic success and adverse-event data.
- SART member clinic
Issuer Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology
US fertility-clinic professional society; member clinics submit standardised outcomes to the CDC ART national registry.
- ESHRE-certified ART centre
Issuer European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology
European fertility-clinic certification covering laboratory standards, embryology QC, and clinical-outcome reporting.
- National cardiothoracic-surgery board
Issuer Country-specific (e.g. ABTS in US, FRCS Cardiothoracic in UK, EBCTS in Europe)
Specialty-board certification in cardiothoracic surgery — required for any open-heart or coronary bypass operation.
- National orthopaedic-surgery board

Specialty-board certification in orthopaedic surgery — minimum credential for joint replacement, spinal surgery, and sports-injury repair.

Issuer UK National Joint Registry / similar registries in Australia (AOANJRR), Sweden (SHAR), and other countries
Hospital-level participation in a national joint-replacement registry; data feeds prosthesis-survival and surgeon-volume analyses.
- National ophthalmology board
Issuer Country-specific (e.g. ABO in US, FRCOphth in UK, EBO in Europe)
Specialty-board certification in ophthalmology covering medical and surgical eye care.
- Cornea / refractive-surgery fellowship
Issuer Country-specific cornea-society or fellowship programmes
Sub-specialty fellowship beyond general ophthalmology, expected for surgeons offering LASIK, PRK, SMILE, RLE, or complex cataract / IOL work.
- ESMO Designated Centre of Integrated Oncology
Issuer European Society for Medical Oncology
Facility designation for integrated oncology + palliative care services. Useful as a quality signal for cancer centres outside the US JCI/CoC frameworks.
- ACS Commission on Cancer Accredited Program
Issuer American College of Surgeons
US facility-level accreditation for comprehensive cancer programs. Quality signal for oncology centres.
- EHS-recognised hernia surgeon
Issuer European Hernia Society
Society-level recognition for surgeons whose hernia-repair volume and outcomes meet EHS quality criteria. Signals subspecialty focus beyond a general-surgery board certification.
- National urology board
Issuer Country-specific (e.g. ABU in US, FRCS Urol in UK, EBU in Europe)
Specialty-board certification in urology — minimum credential for endourology procedures (lithotripsy, ureteroscopy) and prostate surgery.
