DVT

Deep vein thrombosis: a blood clot that forms in a deep vein, most commonly in the leg. DVT is associated with immobility (long-haul flights, post-operative bed rest), some surgical procedures (orthopaedic, abdominal, pelvic), pregnancy, hormone therapy, and certain underlying conditions.
