Surgeon listings
Patients choose surgeons, not buildings. But surgeon listings are legally and ethically delicate, and the registry is deliberately conservative about what it publishes.
Required for any entry
The build fails if any of the following is missing or unsourced:
- Full registered name as it appears on the relevant national medical or dental council register.
- Registration number on the public register.
- Registration status — active, suspended, or restricted — with the date the status was last verified.
- Specialty board certification, with the issuing body, the certificate name, and a source reference.
- At least one affiliated clinic that already exists in the registry.
- The exact URL on which a reader can confirm the registration.
- At least two independent sources in
sourceSlugs.
What we do not publish
- Photos sourced from clinic marketing.
- Claimed specialties that don’t appear on the council register.
- Awards from non-accreditation bodies.
- Patient reviews of named surgeons.
- Before-and-after images.
- Claimed publications without DOIs.
Source of entries
All entries are hand-curated by editorial. The system never auto-populates from clinic-supplied content, even where a clinic publishes a surgeon list on its own website. Empty is the default state and an acceptable steady state.
Removal
Surgeons can request removal at any time; we honour the request and log it as a correction. We do not remove entries because the surgeon disputes the underlying register data — that data is either correct (in which case we keep the entry) or wrong on the register (in which case the surgeon needs to correct the register first).
