How do I check a dentist in Costa Rica?
Open 'Listado Odontólogos' on colegiodentistas.org. Type the dentist's name, specialty or professional code in the search box ('Búsque a su odontólogo por nombre, especialidad o código'), optionally set 'Estado' to Todos, Activo, Suspendido or Especialistas, and click 'Buscar'. The Colegio says the search shows the status of the professionals. We did not document the individual fields of a result.
Does the Costa Rican dentist listing work without JavaScript, or in English?
No to both, as far as our record shows. The page is flagged JavaScript-only, and our record lists Spanish only, so the labels and prompts are in Spanish.
Can the listing show whether a dentist is suspended?
The search has an 'Estado' filter with Activo and Suspendido options, and the Colegio's text says it lets you learn the status of the professionals. We have not documented how often the status is updated, so confirm important decisions with the Colegio directly.
How do I file a complaint about a dentist in Costa Rica?
The Colegio's 'Denuncias' page says its Fiscalía department receives complaints about possible breaches of the Code of Ethics (Código de Ética). To complain, fill in the form on that page.
