Croatian Medical Chamber (Hrvatska liječnička komora)
Statutory professional chamber for physicians in Croatia (Hrvatska liječnička komora, HLK). Membership is mandatory for practising doctors; on a member's request the Chamber issues the licence for independent work (odobrenje za samostalan rad / licenca) and maintains the public physician register (Imenik liječnika).
Scope of authority
Licensing (issuing, renewing and revoking the odobrenje za samostalan rad) and registration of physicians in Croatia. It does not license healthcare facilities.
How to check a licence
- Open 'Imenik liječnika' (the register of physicians) on hlk.hr, which links to https://portal.hlk.hr/imenik-lijecnika/
- Per hlk.hr, only part of the data is published, limited to the doctor's 'Ime i prezime člana' (name) and 'Područje važeće licence' (area of valid licence), under an opinion of the Croatian data-protection agency dated 21 April 2022
