Magyar Orvosi Kamara (MOK), the Hungarian Medical Chamber, the professional body of physicians in Hungary. The Chamber states that since 2 March 2023 it has no competence or jurisdiction to investigate medical-ethics complaints (Act I of 2023); the public register of health professionals is run by the National Hospital Directorate General (OKFŐ), not by the Chamber.

Does the Hungarian Medical Chamber run the doctor register?
No. The public register of health professionals is run by the National Hospital Directorate General (OKFŐ). The register at kereso.okfo.gov.hu covers physicians, dentists, pharmacists, clinical-qualification staff and health professionals.
How do I check a doctor on Hungary's register?
Open the 'Alap- és Működési kereső' at kereso.okfo.gov.hu, choose the name type, and enter a name or part of a name. A name is mandatory; a registration number alone is not enough. You can narrow by registration number and register type, then drag the slider at the bottom of the form and click 'Keresés'. We documented the search form only, not the results.
Is the register easy to use from outside Hungary?
Our record lists Hungarian only, so the form and instructions are in Hungarian. The form also needs a slider to be dragged before it will search, which defeats simple automated checks.
