Professional association of physicians in Latvia (Latvijas Ārstu biedrība). Its stated aims include continuous improvement of the healthcare system and of physicians' qualifications, and it operates a Certification Board (Sertifikācijas padome) that conducts specialist certification and recertification of doctors.
Scope of authority
Professional membership body that runs delegated specialist certification of doctors; it is not the statutory registration/licensing authority (that is the Health Inspectorate).
