Physician registration and discipline are handled by the provincial Colegio Oficial de Médicos; their national umbrella body is the Consejo General de Colegios Oficiales de Médicos (CGCOM), not the ministry.
How to check a licence
- Open 'Consulta Pública de Profesionales Sanitarios' (the 'Registro para empleadores' and 'Acceder' links are for data-supplying entities only)
- Fill in at least one of: 'Provincia', 'Nombre Centro', 'Nombre', 'Primer Apellido', 'Segundo Apellido' (page: 'Debe introducir al menos un criterio de búsqueda')
- For 'Nombre Centro' the page says the name 'debe coincidir con la denominación del centro autorizada por la Comunidad Autónoma' and links ('Puede consultar aquí los centros') to the facility register REGCESS
- Click 'Filtrar' (or 'Limpiar' to reset), then open a result to see tabs 'Datos Personales', 'Datos Academicos', 'Situación Profesional' (Categoría, Función, Centros) and the option 'Imprimir Certificado del Profesional'
